Road to succes

januar 11th, 2012

Found this on my google+. Gotta say I love the illustration at the end.

1. Marry the right person. This one decision will determine 90% of your happiness or misery.
2. Work at something you enjoy and that’s worthy of your time and talent.
3. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.
4. Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know.
5. Be forgiving of yourself and others.
6. Be generous.
7. Have a grateful heart.
8. Persistence, persistence, persistence.
9. Discipline yourself to save money on even the most modest salary.
10. Treat everyone you meet like you want to be treated.
11. Commit yourself to constant improvement.
12. Commit yourself to quality.
13. Understand that happiness is not based on possessions, power or prestige, but on relationships with people you love and respect.
14. Be loyal.
15. Be honest.
16. Be a self-starter.
17. Be decisive even if it means you’ll sometimes be wrong.
18. Stop blaming others. Take responsibility for every area of your life.
19. Be bold and courageous. When you look back on your life, you’ll regret the things you didn’t do more than the ones you did.
20. Take good care of those you love.
21. Don’t do anything that wouldn’t make your Mom proud.

I can, I will

This girl is a true fighter: (audio not necessarily)

I agree with Samantha, it’s a shame that mental illness is such a taboo. Wonder how we’ll look at it, if we were more open about it. It would most likely help a lot of people around the world, with their everyday fights. Unfortunately, thats not how the world are today. Mental illness are a taboo. We don’t talk about it even through we might know some one, who is fighting with it. I personal know a few. I know they just want, the right treatment, respect and most of all and most important of all, love and support. You can read more about her fight with her mental illness here.

Back in 1979

januar 3rd, 2012

I sat with my Dad a few weeks ago, and went through photos of his life, my childhood, among other subjects, when we found this very cute picture. This was taken summer 1979, I was just 1 year old, and crawled everywhere…

When we’ll remember 2011

december 31st, 2011

In the Year of 2011, there has been many great moments, and less great moments. Tonight, we say goodbye to an 365 days old year. And at midnight, we salute 365 new, unused days, with new pages to turn.

2011 was a year, where I got to spend wonderful moments with my family, fell in love, and got my heart broken. I’ve read new books with excitement, met new people, found long lost friends. I have also become more, and more aware of, how lucky I am to be born, and live in Denmark. But I do also think of those, who aren’t that lucky. There are so many less fortunate people in the world, and those who are struggling to survive. I know they won’t be celebrating New Year. They just hope to make it through (the night). I’ll think of them too.

Likewise I will think of those on duty tonight. Be it paramedicans, police, military, and everyone else who are on work. They’re making sure, that we all can celebrate new year safely and in peace.

Finally, I’ll think of you, who has followed my blog, made me smile, made me cry. You who touched my heart with your stories, up and downs, enlighted my world. To you I say: HAPPY NEW YEAR! See you in 2012.  :-)

Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas

december 23rd, 2011

It’s the day before Christmas eve. It’s little (pre-) Christmas-eve tonight. The Christmas will be celebrated with my step-dads (large) family. It’s always fun, cosy with lots of food. We’ll be playing games, eating around the table, talk a whole lot about everything and nothing, then dance around the three, gift unwapping and coffee. Then I will roll home (due too much food). But I am not so sure Santa Claus will be … rolling home …

Merry Christmas to everyone from near and far. <3
